Premium Old Stock Teak
The wood used is Burma teak, which has been stored for many years. This extended storage has allowed the wood to dry and mature optimally. Burma teak is known for its exceptional quality, durability, and beautiful golden color.
The birth of Danish modern
Wegner himself called the chair 'The Round One', even though he was not in the habit of naming his furniture. The chair marked a major breakthrough for both Wegner and Danish design exports. It became an iconic representative of Danish furniture design and Wegner's exceptional craftsmanship.
Its simple yet elegant form expresses the best of Danish modernism and functionalism, and the chair quickly became popular in the American market, gaining international recognition. This opened doors for other Danish designers and manufacturers worldwide.
